Programming Expectations

Here at First Academy Early Learning Center we want your child to receive that individual care you would give, so we follow BFTS ratios. Our infant room (children 6 weeks old through age 18 month) will have 1 caregiver for every 6 children. Our toddler room (children 18 months through 36 months) will have 1 caregiver to 8 children. Our pre-school age will have 1 caregiver for every 7-15 children. Remember these numbers are our maximum limit. The center will not have more children than our licensing allows for at the center at one time. Ratios Birth to 18 months not (walking) as follow 1 to 6, One (1) year old 1 to 8, (2) year olds 1 to 10, (3) year olds 1 to 15, (4) year olds 1 to 18, (5) year olds 1 to 20, (6) year and older 1 to 25.

Program

We believe that the first five years of childhood are the most important in development and learning. So, we developed a program that will encourage children to learn in this important time. We also have a “Whole Child Development philosophy that features a full day of developmentally appropriate and fun activities where children will develop socially, cognitively, emotionally, and physically. Example: when we learn about an apple they touch it, smell it, cut it open, taste it, talk, and sing about it. Children are learning by doing, it’s both fun and educational. We will be learning by themes that will change approximately every week. The activities that are chosen are open ended, which means they grow with the level of the individual child. This is great for all our children including the latch key program. The infants and toddler room will have age appropriate activities also. Our main room will be set up as learning centers, like reading, science, language, math dramatic play sensory centers and many others.

Infants

Designed to provide a nurturing and developmentally appropriate environment for infants aged 6 weeks to 18 months. Our program focuses on promoting the physical, social, emotional, and cognitive development of each child through individualized care and age-appropriate activities.

Toddlers

Toddler Program is designed to provide a supportive and engaging environment for toddlers as they explore, learn, and develop essential skills. Our program focuses on fostering independence, socialization, and a love for learning through age-appropriate activities and play.

SCHOOL AGE-k

Preschool
